Ingredients
 

  • 4 medium-sized apples, cored and sliced into thin wedges (e.g., Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • tsp ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp water or apple juice
  • chopped nuts, granola, or a dollop of Greek yogurt (optional toppings)

Instructions
 

  • Prepare Apples: Wash, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  • Melt Butter: In a large skillet, melt the butter or coconut oil over medium heat.
  • Add Apples: Add the sliced apples to the skillet and sauté for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Mix Spices: In a small bowl, combine cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Sprinkle the spice mixture over the apples, ensuring even coating.
  • Sweeten & Simmer: Drizzle the maple syrup or honey over the apples and add the vanilla extract. Stir gently to combine.
  • Cook Until Tender: Add water or apple juice to prevent sticking. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 5–7 minutes until apples are tender. Stir occasionally.
  • Serve Warm: Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with optional toppings like chopped nuts, granola, or a dollop of Greek yogurt.
