A U TO I M M U N I T Y. What does this mean and why is it important that you know? Autoimmune disorders result from problems with your immune system. When someone has an autoimmune disorder, the immune system will start attacking nonforeign body parts, tissues and organs. Example: Celiac Disease + eating gluten = negatively affects the thyroid gland. It is unfortunate that many women don’t receive a diagnosis of their autoimmune disease until they’re trying to conceive. I’m so passionate about educating others about this topic because I’ve been on this journey for a few years now and I would love to help others! I was on birth control and it wasn’t until I came off + became more educated on finding the root cause that I realized that the pill was masking bigger problems in my body and I had to get to the underlying reason if I wanted to truly heal. Thankfully there are many things we can do by making lifestyle changes to boost our immune system & tame (or even get rid of) symptoms! -Mikaela
